Whirling MandalaThis painting was created from a drawing I did in India in 2004 based on a heavy antique silver necklace I bought in Jodhpur. Remeber how you used to make snowflakes by folding the paper in 1/8ths and cutting on the edges and unfolding to find a symetrical unique snowflake? This was done the same way: fold the square of tracing paper in half, half again, then in a triangle. I drew motifs from the necklace on that triangle and traced it on all the others, creating a mandala. What fun it was to paint.Original watercolorAward
