Ganesh

In the Hindu culture, Ganesh is the most beloved of all the deities. Lord Ganesha is the overcomer of obsticles and the soother of sorrows. He is the patron of students and new beginnings, and is always shown accompanied by his stead, the mouse. The Sanskrit text on the painting is the Ganesh mantra, which is chanted to invoke his blessing.
